What are Rec Specs?
Liberty Sport's protective sports glasses, the ones youth leagues require for basketball, soccer and racquet sports. ASTM F803 certified, rubber brow guard, 3 mm polycarbonate lenses. On a hard enough hit the lens pops out of the frame on purpose, so it doesn't break against the eye.
Can I get prescription in Rec Specs, including bifocals?
Single vision or bifocal, yes. Progressives are a poor fit for fast sport because the reading zone is so narrow. If a player needs distance and near, we fit a flat-top 28 mm bifocal and set the segment height for the sport; a hockey player's head sits differently from a basketball player's.
Do Rec Specs fit over my existing glasses (OTG)?
The standard Rec Specs don't; they're prescription glasses in their own right, which is what keeps the optics honest in a wrap. For over-the-glasses use there's the Rec Specs Overguard shield.
What's the warranty on Rec Specs?
One year against manufacturing defects. A lens popping out under a hard hit is the design working, not a defect.
